Ask any single malt drinker what his or her favorite whisky is and you are in for a long-winded and usually ambiguous answer.  It'll typically include a lot of hemming and hawing, there'll be a number of "it depends," and a laundry list of different single malts, and after all that you'll be no closer to knowing the answer than when you asked the question.  To save you the hassle of going through that experience with our members, this page answers some of those questions for you.

Best Whisky Ever Tasted: Tough to pick just one - Ardbeg 17, Bowmore 30, Glenmorangie Ealanta are high on my list.

Favorite Whisky Region: Hard to pick just one.  I love my Islay whiskies especially Ardbeg but I'm also a lover of Glenmorangie (Highland) and Balvenie (Speyside).  Those three distilleries each get a shelf of their own in my whisky library.

Favorite Distillery Visited: I've visited quite a few so picking one is hard.  I really liked a number of them including Ardbeg, Glenmorangie, Glenkinchie, Glenfiddich, and Laphraoig.

Distilleries Would Like to Visit: Aberlour, Balvenie, BenRiach.

Currently Drinking: Glen Scotia 18-Year-Old. I am on my second bottle.

All Time Favorite: The whiskies with bordeaux expressions, especially Caol Ila (1990) Mission Gold, 21 year old in bourbon and Chateau Haut Brion Casks.  I can't escape that wine heritage.

Best Whisky Ever Tasted: Both for the majesty of yesterday: Macallan "The 1874" (Replicant) and Aberlour 1964 (25 year old).

Favorite Whisky Region: Islay.

Distillery Would Like to Visit: Lowlands: Glenkinchie, Speyside: Macallan, Glenturret, Islay: Ardbeg, Campbeltown: Springbank.  Do you get the idea my trip is already mapped out?
